And as usual you would think that I would get some sort of following for my taste in music or movies or games, or that I am at least paid off by some large corporation to promote their interests. I am not. I do, however like to share things I like even if no one is going to read, comment, or act on what I write. Anyways… It is not every day that you can listen to real, original Christmas music that is entertaining rather than annoying. Today (and for the last year or so) is one of those days. Jump on over to purevolume.com. Ya, the music site that used to be huge until myspace launched it’s music section which totally took over for indie artists looking to promote their music for free. Anyways, they have a full-length holiday sampler CD that is totally free to download. Some of the tunes are covers, but are done in such a different way that it is borderline original; or are just such good covers it doesn’t matter. Anyways, here is the link. Download it for your IPOD or burn it to a cd. And enjoy this holiday season with some music that is not totally mainstream. Then if you really like the music you can check out the individual bands and buy their stuff or listen to their free tracks also. My personal favorite from the CD is the band As Tall as Lions, which also has their own video feature on the purevolume.com home page.
